Bastia Poretta Airport Train Transfers

There is no train station located at Bastia Poretta Airport (BIA), however there is a train station located in central Bastia. The train station is called Terminus Bastia and it also works as a bus station for the few public transportation buses that are available in the area.

A shuttle bus runs between the airport and Terminus Bastia Train Station throughout the day, with the journey taking around 25 minutes when traffic is light. When traffic is heavier such as during rush hour, and perhaps even more so during the summers and high season, the journey time will increase with anything from 5 minutes up to another 30 minutes.

The shuttle bus costs 9€ for a single person one-way journey.

The town of Bastia sits on the Corsican northeast coast, approximately 21 km/13 mi north of Bastia Poretta Airport.

Trains in Bastia

The railway network on Corsica consists of two main lines, the Central Line and the Balagne Line, making up a total of 230 km/143 mi railway. When looked upon on a map the two lines look like a squiggly Y.

The most eastern end of the network is Bastia which is one of the end stations on the Central Line. The most southern end of the network, as well as the other end station on the Central Line, is Ajaccio. Ajaccio is Corsica capital and it was there that Napoleon Bonaparte was born once upon a time.

The western end of the rail network is Calvi which connects with Ponte-Leccia making up the Balagne Line. Ponte-Leccia is also where the two lines connect with each other and where transfer from one line to another is possible.

The metric track railroad is said to be somewhat jumpy and perhaps not the most comfortable, but the stunning views over mountains, plains and the Mediterranean Sea make up for it.
